MSU's LJ Scott cleared to play after resolving license issue

Yeadon said Scott will be on a six-month informal probationary period where, if he avoids any misdemeanor charges and keeps a clean driving record, his charge of driving with a suspended license this week will be dismissed.

Scott was an All State running back in his time at Hubbard High School. The first instance happened back in February 2016 according to the paper, but charges were dropped after a citation was issued and a fine paid.

Secretary of State spokesman Fred Woodhams said if Scott paid the impeding ticket and also paid a reinstatement fee, he would be able to continue practice driving.

He believes he's ready to handle playing around 26 minutes a night on consecutive days. Fultz called the setting for his first pro game "anything you can wish for".

Scott got caught later in March 2016 when he was speeding, another time in April 2016 after being involved in a vehicle crash, and yet again in July 2016 by campus police.

Lt. Chad Connelly of the East Lansing Police Department said Scott appeared in court Friday to try to get his license issues resolved. It was his seventh charge of that nature, according to the Lansing State Journal. Scott admitted a red plastic cup in the center console that contained alcohol belonged to him. He was charged with leaving the scene of a crime and driving without a valid license, but those charges were dropped and replaced with one count of reckless driving. "His status will be affected for Saturday's game, but he will play".

Scott, who is the team's leading rusher with 408 yards, had a career night last weekend against Minnesota, rushing for 194 yards on 25 carries and scored two touchdowns in the Spartans' 30-27 win.
