Now is a good time to actually see the planet Uranus

Uranus, the seventh planet from the Sun and one of the least-studied in our solar system, is now visible to the naked eye.

The planet reached opposition on October 19, meaning it was directly opposite the sun, bringing it closer and brighter to earth. A waning moon, and the resulting darker sky, should help.

Opposition puts Uranus up high in the night sky, away from the bright sun, where it's easy to see.

"It's visible all night long and its blue-green color is unmistakable".

The exact causes of the decline are still unclear. "The research areas are mostly small and enclosed by agricultural areas". After 27 years, the total average weight has been declined by more than 75 percent .

You'll be able to find the blue-green planet by looking toward the southeast within the constellation Pisces, the fish, National Geographic reports.

Uranus is 4 times wider than Earth. Uranus isn't going to be invisible, but it also won't exactly drown out the sun, or even other planets that will appear in the sky.

While people had a lot of fun with the play on words of the planet, let's not forget the Merriam-Webster dictionary actually says the planet is pronounced Ura-nuss. Much of what we know about Uranus now comes from the Voyager 2 spacecraft, the only one we've ever sent to visit it in a visit that was shorter than an American workday. But binoculars, rather than a full telescope, should suffice, NASA says.
