Congress angry because I am fighting corruption: PM Modi in Himachal

Addressing a rally in poll-bound Himachal Pradesh, Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi said he is waiting for the day when Chinese youth will use Made in India phones to click selfies.

Taking potshots at former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi's statement that Re 1 ends up as 15 paise when it reaches villages, Modi said: "Rajiv was such a doctor who diagnosed the problem of corruption but did not do anything about it". Results will be declared on December 18. I am not afraid of Opposition burning my effigies or protesting against me.

The Himachal Pradesh Assembly elections will be held on November 9.

Flaying the party for its alleged corruption, PM Modi said there was anger in the hearts of the people of Himachal and on polling day, the Congress the reap the "fruits of its sins".

The prime minister also claimed that senior Congress leaders were not campaigning in Himachal Pradesh because "they have conceded defeat and left CM Virbhadra Singh to his fate".

Ultimately, not even Mother Nature could save the Nittany Lions from the tail end of a three-game East Division maelstrom. Barkley had 14 carries for 63 yards, caught three passes for 33 yards and had two kick returns for 15 yards.

The Opposition parties, including the Congress, have chose to mark the first anniversary of the Modi government's decision of demonetising higher currency notes as a "black day", while the BJP will observe it as "anti-black money day".

Modi claimed that the poor and the middle class were back to work but the dishonest people were angry with him and wanted to seek revenge from him as he forced them to deposit their bagfuls of cash with banks.

The Prime Minister highlighted that three lakh shell companies have been shut down after demonetisation and a probe into 5,000 such firms has found a fraud of Rs 4,000 crore. But, Modi said, he would miss the fun of fighting an election as Congress has already left the battlefield. "Modi has never spoken on Narayan Rane, the Badals (in Punjab) or Anurag Thakur's Himchal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA)", the Congress vice-president said at a rally in Chamba.

The Prime Minister said he will pay off the debt through development in the state. Party president Amit Shah and Uttar Pradesh chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also addressed public meetings.

Playing the development card by emphasising on promotion of tourism in the hill state, the Prime Minister said his government was focusing on laying road networks in the state.
