Mike Evans suspended one game for drilling Marshon Lattimore

In a press release sent out on Monday afternoon, the National Football League announced that Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Evans is suspended one game without pay for his late hit on New Orleans Saints defensive back, Marshon Lattimore.

Evans was called for a 15-yard personal foul penalty but was not ejected from the game.

The Saints lead the Buccaneers 30-3 in the third quarter.

He will miss the Bucs' home game against the Jets on Sunday and can return to the active roster next Monday. Mike Evans runs over to hit Lattimore, and a scuffle ensues.

After losing back-to-back games and being shut out by New Orleans early on, emotions got the best of Evans no doubt.

Broadcom offers $103 billion for Qualcomm, sets up takeover battle
Qualcomm apparently isn't happy with the offer, with Bloomberg saying that Qualcomm thinks the deal "undervalues the company". Broadcom is offering a combination cash-and-stock deal of $70 per share.

Mike Evans' hot temper has landed him in hot water.

"If there's not an ejection in that situation then I don't know when there's supposed to be an ejection", he said after the game. "I should have just shoved him away to try to break it up".

Evans said he only saw Lattimore's shove and was trying to protect his quarterback. "He snuck me from behind", Lattimore said.

"My first instinct was to go help my teammate, even though I've been knowing [Evans] since Texas A&M days", said Saints CB De'Vante Harris, who knocked Evans off Lattimore. I was glad he wasn't ejected. "I reacted too quick".
