It remains uncertain when Paul will return to the Senate.

The senator tweeted Wednesday that he sustained six broken ribs had and fluid buildup around his lungs.

It was initially reported that Paul had five broken ribs and small cuts to his nose and mouth after the November 3 attack.

In all, the tweets received hundreds of thousands of shares, from people apparently mostly annoyed at the change. The user edited Jack's tweet into only 140 characters without losing the meaning of tweet itself.

A pre-trial court date was set for November 30 by Warren County District Judge Brent Potter, ABC News reported.

Paul tweeted links on Wednesday to stories from Breitbart News and the Washington Examiner that "report" that the attack was entirely politically motivated by Sen.

"A medical update: final report indicates six broken ribs & new X-ray shows a pleural effusion".

The New York Times, citing neighbors and Republican lawmakers familiar with the incident, reported that the assault stemmed from a landscaping dispute.

Stivers is a former board member of the Homeowners Association at Rivergreen, the gated community where Senator Paul lives.

Dr. Rene Boucher admitted to police that he tackled Paul from behind while he was mowing his lawn last Friday.

Boucher may still be facing additional federal charges as Warren County continues their investigation alongside Kentucky State Police and the FBI. "As to reports of a longstanding dispute with the attacker, the Pauls have had no conversations with him in many years". "The unfortunate occurrence of November 3rd has absolutely nothing to do with either's politics or political agendas". Boucher's attorney has called it "a very regrettable dispute" that was "trivial".
