Suspect charged with stabbing death in Wheaton park

Authorities in North Carolina arrested alleged attacker Miguel "Timido" Angel Lopez-Abrego, 19. He was extradited to Montgomery County and is scheduled to appear in court for a bond review on Wednesday.

Up to 10 members of MS-13 communicated on walkie talkies as they closed in on their victim at a recreational area in Wheaton, Maryland, say officials.

The documents allege that Lopez-Abrego helped dig the grave where the victim was found, and also used a walkie-talkie to alert the other gang members to the victim's arrival. The victim's body was exhumed and sent to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, who ruled the death a homicide by sharp force injuries.

The victim's "heart had been excised from his chest and thrown into the grave", according to court records.

Nine other people are believed to be involved in the killing, according to court documents.

The victim, who authorities are still working to identify, was described as a 5-foot-2 Hispanic male, weighing around 126 pounds.

The victim was likely killed between December 2016 and March 2017, according to police.

Police first learned of the killing in early September when an informant told detectives about it. The informant told police about the specially dug grave in Wheaton Regional Park

County police said a man's body was found on September 5 buried in a grave at Wheaton Regional Park. Detectives found the body in a grave.

Members of MS-13 committed a murder in Maryland that goes far beyond depraved and gruesome.

In court documents, detectives describe learning of his body through a yet-unnamed informant in MS-13, an worldwide criminal gang with a presence in the county and the region.

He was missing a bottom tooth, police said, and wearing a large gray sweatshirt with the words "First United Methodist Church Laurel" written on the front when his body was found. Detectives interviewed Lopez-Abrego, but he denied involvement in the Wheaton murder.

Lopez-Abrego is illegally in the USA and now in immigration proceedings, according to Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

Lopez-Abrego was found in North Carolina on November 11 and arrested on a first-degree murder warrant.
