Meg Whitman to step down as CEO of HPE

Whitman will step down as CEO of HPE from January. At that time, Whitman went from CEO of the larger legacy company to CEO of HPE, while Dion Weisler went from executive vice president of the old HP's printing and personal systems group to CEO of HP Inc. She had then refuted these claims saying that she meant to stay with Hewlett Packard Enterprise Co.

She set about slashing jobs and dramatically resetting investors' expectations of how well the company could perform, at a time when customers were adopting cloud computing services that HP was ill equipped to provide.

Whitman was in charge of the original combined HP business until it was split into HP Inc (the declining PC and printer businesses) and HPE in 2015. "HPE is in a tremendous position to win, and we remain focused on executing our strategy, driving our innovation agenda, and delivering the next wave of shareholder value".

Forbes recently listed her net worth as $3.2 billion. Since the two companies began trading separately on Oct 19, 2015, the HPE stock has gained 47 per cent.

"I've become quite loyal to Hewlett-Packard and Hewlett-Packard Enterprise", she said.

Mr Neri's promotion was not entirely a surprise.

Comment period extended on proposed national park fee increase
Visitors would be charged $70 per vehicle, up from the current $30 fee , during the five busiest months of the year. The deadline was originally set for Thursday, but on Tuesday the comment period was extended to December 22.

Whitman did not tell employees why she made a decision to leave the CEO job or where she plans to go next. Neri has been with the company since 1995, working his way up to the company's top ranks.

Since the breakup, Palo Alto, California-based HPE has furthered its transformation, spinning off a big chunk of its business software line-up previous year in an $8.8 billion deal with Micro Focus International PLC.

HPE reported fiscal fourth-quarter adjusted earnings of 31 cents a share, above estimates. The business's revenue for the quarter was up 2.5% compared to the same quarter past year.

In the current period, adjusted profit will be 20 to 24 USA cents a share, compared with an average prediction of 27 U.S. cents.

Beat revenue estimates. The company saw revenue figures of $7.8billion, topping our consensus estimate of $7.71 billion.

Ms Whitman was the second-highest-paid American female executive, after IBM chief executive Ginni Rometty, with compensation of US$52.3 million, according to the Bloomberg Pay Index.
