Winter storm watch issued - Batavia could get two feet by Friday

A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for parts of north-northwestern Colorado from 7 p.m. Sunday to noon Monday, the National Weather Service says. "(Conditions) include very low visibility and deep snow cover on roads". "These unsafe winter conditions will overtake the Arrowhead region of Northeastern Minnesota later this evening".

"Travel will be very hard at times, including the morning and evening commute on Wednesday", the report warns.

The watch included the Iron Range, areas of the Arrowhead away from Lake Superior, and International Falls.

Willie Taggart to leave OR to become FSU head coach
But FSU rebounded and won four of five down the stretch to continue the program's record bowl streak to 36 consecutive years. Taggart is considered a skilled recruiter, and given his ties to Florida, he should have success in a talent-rich state.

Gusty northwest winds that may exceed 40 miles per hour are expected to cause blowing and drifting snow, with near-blizzard conditions possible to the west and north of Duluth.

Total snow accumulations of 12 to 24 inches are possible in the most persistent snow bands in Batavia and Genesee County. Snowfall of 1 to 3 inches expected, along with areas of blowing snow.

A Winter Storm Warning and a Blizzard Warning will be in effect for areas further west.
