Airline Crew Says They Saw North Korean Test Missile Re-Enter Atmosphere

Last Wednesday, a series of ballistic missiles that the North Korea regime claimed to be able to reach the United States mainland were launched in defiance of stern warnings and global sanctions. The new flight route goes further north to avoid the Sea of Japan.

Singapore Airlines, in response to North Korea's July launch of an intercontinental ballistic missile, changed its route for flights between Incheon, South Korea and Los Angeles, Calif.

The test-launch raised tension further with South Korea and the USA, who on Monday began their largest ever joint air exercise, which the North has branded an "all-out provocation".

The North fired an intercontinental ballistic missile believed capable of hitting the US mainland last Wednesday.

"There are no current routes that fly through a risky zone", said an Asiana Airlines official. However, it has failed to give prior notice before its various missile tests this year.

Jeremy Pruitt to be named Tennessee head coach
ESPN's Chris Low reported , however, that Sherrer is a name to watch for on Pruitt's prospective staff at Tennessee. The selection of Pruitt ends a coaching search that had become embarrassing for Tennessee as it dragged on.

The International Civil Aviation Organization in October had condemned the missile tests as it threatened the safety of commercial flights but it had little effect on the North Korean regime.

The South China Morning Post says radar information shows other airlines were also flying in the general area of the test-including two Taiwanese airlines flying to Taipei from Vancouver and Seattle....and a Japanese airline flying from Frankfurt to Tokyo.

Two other Asian airlines, Cathay Pacific and Korean Air, reported that their pilots saw the November 29 missile test from the cockpit, however neither airline will change their "routes or operating parameters" at this time.

Travelers who are concerned should know the chances of an airplane colliding with a missile are extremely low: One safety analyst estimates that it is less than a billion to one.
