Somewhat heavier snow is predicted in a few north Georgia areas. "Basically, as the sun sets (Friday), we're going to start to see some of that rain change over to snow and probably mix in flakes with the rain and possibly change over to all snow shortly after that".

A few places, like the northern hilly areas of Sussex County, usually see their first measurable snow - 0.1 inches or more - by December 2.

So, the biggest takeaway is to just take it easy on the roadways Friday morning and give yourself plenty of space between you and the vehicle in front of you and do not slam on the brakes as that leads to more skidding. The city will send an update Friday about that night's events.
