Therefore, the 10 million sales, as reported by BusinessInsider, might surprise many, but nearly on release, I was convinced that Nintendo was back on top with a victor here and you know what? In fact, the biggest contributor to Switch's slowing sales is Nintendo itself. These include the award winning titles The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Super Mario Odyssey, and Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle. The company initially expected to sell about 10 million units in year one - now, Nintendo expects to sell over 14 million by March 2018.

If you want to play it at home, you simply drop the console into the dock that's already connected to your TV. For comparison, Nintendo only sold 13.6 million Wii U consoles during its five-year lifespan.

Last week, Platinum Games and Nintendo confirmed that not only Bay9onetta 3 is in development for Nintendo Switch, but also that the first two entries in the series are getting released on the console. Given that we now know that other exclusive first-party titles like the Bayonetta games, Kirby: Star Allies, and a new Yoshi game are gearing up to drop soon, only means that much more buzz will surround the device.

If you're unsure of just how great this achievement is for Nintendo, the Switch has sold roughly the same amount of systems in approximately the same amount of time as the PlayStation 4 did following its launch in 2013. If not, do you plan on picking one up now that it is a success and third parties are rushing to put their games on it? The Switch is likely to surpass that early next year - maybe even once Christmas sales have been totted up.
