Isaiah Thomas reportedly looking to scrimmage with Canton Charge

All signs seems to be pointing to Thomas being on the floor for his return to the Garden if all goes well over the next two weeks in what will be perhaps the most anticipated game in the National Basketball Association this season.

Thomas has missed the entire season so far as he continues to recover from an injury to his right hip.

Cavs are planning to give Thomas his first chance to get in a full court 5-on-5 practice since joining the team following a trade with the Boston Celtics in August. Part of the reason for that is Cleveland, a veteran-laden team that has reeled off 18 victories in its past 19 games, rarely practices.

Thomas has yet to play in a game for the Cavaliers after the blockbuster trade that sent him to Cleveland and Kyrie Irving to the Celtics.

The Cavaliers finish their three-game road trip on December 30 against the.

MLS Expansion: Cincinnati, Sacramento both deserve spots
However, MLS has made it clear the league prefers soccer-specific stadiums, something the city of Detroit does not have. If either Sacramento or Cincinnati doesn't get a franchise now, they're nailed on to join a year later.

McMenamin's update comes after Shams Charania of Yahoo Sports reported Thomas is striving to return by the first week of January.

"I don't know where that came from, but I hope so", Cleveland coach Tyronn Lue said Sunday night of the report, per ESPN.

Per ESPN's Dave Mcmenamin: "A source close to Thomas told ESPN that his camp has ruled out a return before Christmas, taking Tuesday's road game against the Milwaukee Bucks and Thursday's home game against the Chicago Bulls off the table for his Cavs debut".

When asked if he was consulted on Thomas' return timeline, Lue said, "That's not my job".

The targeted time period is especially notable because the Cavaliers face Irving and the Celtics on January 3 in Boston.
