Jim Schwartz expected to interview with Giants in next week, sources say

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Giants are supposedly going to first interview current Philadelphia Eagles defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz for their head coaching position. The Eagles are one of the more aggressive 4-3 teams in the league with the likes of Fletcher Cox, Brandon Graham, Chris Long, Mychal Kendricks, Jordan Hicks and others creating a dominant front seven. The Eagles are sixth in points allowed as they're giving up just 19.2 per game.

Whatever the case may be, Schwartz is considered an early favorite for the Giants' head coaching job and appears to be in line to get the first crack at it. There is really no right way to answer that. "You answer it and say, 'No, ' then people ..." And there were no curveballs, as Dave Gettleman was hired as general manager on Thursday after a three-week process.

Schwartz, 51, checks the experience box that co-owner John Mara emphasized as a prerequisite as the Giants try to avoid a repeat of McAdoo's disastrous tenure.

PUBG Xbox One patch brings new Squad mode features; Addresses lag
Of course, this isn't accounting for the sizeable player base built up on Xbox One since it released on the console December 12. This is a relatively small change, but it will prevent you from telling your teammates where the enemies are the moment you die.

The Bears, Colts, Bengals, Lions and Cardinals also could be searching for head coaches. In four of hive five seasons at the helm, Schwartz failed to produce a winning campaign despite having Matthew Stafford and Calvin Johnson as pillars of the offense. An Eagles spokesman said the team wouldn't comment until something was official.

A loss in Week 17 would guarantee the Giants the second overall pick in the 2018 draft. Defensive backs coach Cory Undlin could be an in-house candidate.

The Cowboys deactivated wide receiver Cole Beasley, running back Rod Smith, linebacker Tre'von Johnson, tight end Blake Jarwin, and defensive linemen Benson Mayowa and David Irving.
