Powerball Drawn, But No Winner; Jackpot Exceeds $440M, 9th Largest

Powerball numbers drawn late Saturday were: 28, 36, 41, 51 and 58. The estimated cash value of the $440 million Powerball jackpot will be $278.3 million. There were no jackpot winners Saturday night, pushing the next jackpot an estimated $440 million.

By late August, the Powerball had reached $758.7 million, which all went to victor Mavis Wanczyk of MA, making it the largest prize ever awarded to a single ticket. The next drawing will take place on Wednesday.

Saturday night's Powerball jackpot would have been worth $384 million to a single victor. The odds on that ticket were 11,688,053.52 to 1, according to the Powerball website.

Hatch also served as chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee and was at the center of numerous biggest confirmation battles. Former Massachusetts governor and Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney has been considering a 2018 run for his seat.

There is a 1 in 259 million chance of winning the Mega Millions jackpot. Two other tickets won a $1 million prize in this drawing; these were sold in New Hampshire and New Jersey. The first five numbers matched, but the ticket did not have the Powerball number.

In early 2016, Melbourne Beach's David Kaltschmidt, 55, and his wife, Maureen Smith, 70, claimed a share of the record-breaking $1.58 billion jackpot, accepting a lump-sum option of $327,835,077 before taxes.

Powerball is held in 44 states, the District of Columbia, the U.S. Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico.
