Sorry Game Of Thrones Fans, There's Some Bad News

Leaving fans with only seven episodes as opposed to its typical 10 episode season.

Big news for GOT fans, the show won't return until 2019 and the fans have to wait for a long time - a complete year! Game of Thrones star Sophie Turner let this information slip in an interview with Variety last December, but now it's been confirmed by HBO, which said that 8th and final season of its hit epic fantasy will be returning in 2019.

David Benioff & D.B. Weiss, David Nutter and Miguel Sapochnik will direct. David Benioff & D.B. Weiss, Bryan Cogman and Dave Hill are writing all the episodes.

There was no month specified for the 2019 launch, but it will have been well over a year since season seven aired by even the earliest possible airdate.

As the final season is expected to feature a lot of battle scenes, the show may require more special effects. The others have all had roles creating the mythical world of author George R.R. Martin.

Showrunners David Benioff and DB Weiss announced in 2016 it would finish with 13 episodes spread over a final two seasons. Co-executive producers are Bryan Cogman, Guymon Casady, Vince Gerardis and George R.R. Martin.

Game of Thrones Season 7 aired in summer of 2017 and previous seasons had usually run in the spring. As per the latest entertainment news, the makers of the much-acclaimed hit series has finally confirmed its return for the GOT Season 8.
