HTC announces Vive Pro with better specs for enterprise

Today in Las Vegas, HTC VIVE™, the leader in room-scale Virtual Reality (VR) announced new hardware upgrades that deliver premium VR experiences to consumers and enterprises with the introduction of Vive Pro and Vive Wireless Adaptor.

Along with the new Vive Pro, HTC is launching the new Vive Wireless Adapter today. The Samsung Odyssey, which runs Windows Mixed Reality, features a display with a 2880 x 1600 pixel resolution as well, just like the new Vive Pro. Pro also includes dual microphones with active noise cancellation and two front-facing cameras.

There is some good news for existing Vive owners, there's a Vive Pro HMD-only upgrade option which means all the extras such as controllers and base stations are not required making an upgrade cheaper.

At the same time, HTC unveiled the Vive Wireless Adaptor, which they say will be the first wireless VR adapter to market. HTC's version will employ Intel's WiGig wireless-transmission protocol, as opposed to TPCast's use of a different 60GHz standard. The Vive Wireless Adaptor will ship in Q3 to customers worldwide. Consumer Technology Association forecasted Monday the VR market will see record growth in 2018 with AR/VR headsets and eyewear selling 4.9 million units in the U.S. in 2018 (a more than 25 percent increase from 2017).

Arshi Khan's Fan Tried To ATTACK Shilpa Shinde!
With just a week left to the grand finale, some of the gharwale find their patience waning and start lashing out at each other. Beyond this, there is a segment published on Voot where Hina Khan and Vikas Gupta are seen fighting with Shilpa over food.

"Wireless VR has been on almost every VR user's wishlist since the technology was unveiled", said Frank Soqui, General Manager Virtual Reality Group at Intel Corporation.

In addition, the Vive Pro sports a new head strap that promises to be more comfortable. It offers a fully interactive preview of content instead of the usual 2D catalog. This will make it easier to decide if you want to download, whether it's one of 1,000 standalone titles or the 325 available for subscription. It also adds integrated headphones and, thankfully, still works with all the current Vive content already available.

Finally, HTC has released a new update for the Vive Video app.

Lastly, HTC said it upgraded its native VR video player, Vive Video. HTC isn't saying when exactly the new Vive will be available for purchase, or how much it will cost as of yet, though.
