Nvidia is launching a line of massive 65-inch gaming displays

Nvidia is partnering with a bunch of companies, including Acer, Asus, and HP, to actually manufacture the displays, which have been two years in the making.

"PC gamers expect high performance and instant response times, but, until now, they've been largely limited to traditional desktop displays", said Matt Wuebbling, head of GeForce marketing at NVIDIA. That means you can stream movies and TV without need of a separate streaming box and use the included Shield controller for gaming.

This is all well and good, but who exactly wants or needs a 65-inch gaming monitor with a SHIELD built-in? These pack in nearly everything you could want: 4K, HDR, and 120 Hz support with 1,000-nit peak luminance and DCI-P3 color gamut. This allows you to use your voice to ask Shield to play music, order shopping, or ask Google. G-SYNC HDR technology also supports video playback at native framerates, including popular 23.976, 24 and 25 FPS formats. It sports NVIDIA G-SYNC Variable Refresh Rate technology which provides a buttery-smooth, tear-and-stutter-free gaming experience, as well as ultra-low latency at 4K 120Hz. For now, the first BFGD is currently showcased by appointment only at CES 2018 at the NVIDIA gaming suite and the ASUS ROG (Republic of Gamers) showcase room, not counting Pepcom and Showstoppers which are press-only events. The pricing and more details of the device will be revealed later. We're excited. Expect more news as it drops, with the first batch of BFGDs expected to launch sometime mid-2018.
