Mark Wahlberg allegedly refused casting of Christopher Plummer in 'All The Money'

Mark Wahlberg allegedly refused casting of Christopher Plummer in 'All The Money'

Mark Wahlberg was paid $1.5 million (Rs 9.5 crore) for the nine-day reshoots conducted for Ridley Scott's All the Money in the World, while his co-star Michelle Williams was paid less than $1000 (Rs 63,000), a new report says.

Amber Tamblyn quickly responded via Twitter, "Michelle Williams was paid 1% of what her male co-star made on her latest film". Sources described as "three people familiar with the situation but not authorized to speak publicly" revealed the details, according to USA Today. "Everyone did it for nothing", director Ridley Scott told USA TODAY, including himself.

Director Ridley Scott chose to cut Spacey from the completed Getty family kidnapping drama after he was accused of sexual misconduct and inappropriate behaviour, and he called on Christopher Plummer to step in and play billionaire J. Paul Getty.

Kevin Spacey was replaced by Christopher Plummer only one month before the film was set to hit theatres past year, after sexual harassment allegations emerged.

In an interview with USA Today, Scott seemed to imply that he and the cast had some unwritten agreement to work overtime without pay because they wanted the film made, and they needed to get Kevin Spacey out of it.

The controversy ensued following the release of a book that featured Bannon criticizing the president and two of his children. As I wrote after Wolff's "Today" appearance, the author's methods do not directly undermine the veracity of his reporting.

Although The Wrap reported Wednesday that Wahlberg did not have reshoots included in his contract and therefore was able to negotiate more money for additional time, while Williams' contract did include reshoots, USA Today disputed that report. Williams, who has been heralded as a blinding talent for her portrayals in films such as Blue Valentine, My Week With Marilyn and Manchester By The Sea.

Williams and Wahlberg are both represented by William Morris/Endeavor.

Last December Williams told ABC News that she was all in favor of the reshoots because she didn't want the film to be tainted by the Spacey scandal.

According to Variety, a spokesperson for SAG-AFTRA, which is the union representing both the actors, said that the organisation is looking at the circumstances of the pay disparity. "Everyone did it for nothing", he said, adding, "I refused to get paid". For the 10 days shooting spell, WME negotiated more than $1million for Wahlberg but only $80 per day for the four-time Oscar-nominated actress.

Imperative Entertainment, the company that produced it, ultimately agreed to US$1.5 million. "I had to break the news to my family and tell them I wasn't going be home (for Thanksgiving) and make alternate arrangements for them", she told Vulture.
