Peru shamans hold rituals, foresee good news during Pope's visit

As far as Catholic weddings go, it's pretty hard to beat being married by the pope - on an airplane.

On Wednesday, Pope Francis visited the city of Temuco in Chile's southern Araucania region, where he called for unity in one of the country's longest-running conflicts. They were married civilly, with the legal documents to prove it, but they'd never had a formal wedding ceremony before an official of the church.

First he celebrated the first-ever airborne papal wedding, marrying two flight attendants from Chile's flagship airline at 36,000 feet during a flight on Thursday to this northern Chilean beachside town.

According to the couple, Francis blessed their rings and then said "We need a witness".

The National Police of Peru said that during the stay by the Bishop of Rome, drone flights and air sports will not be allowed in the cities to be visited by the Pope and where mass rallies will take place.

"Francis' words in favor of the foreigners who live here are needed, differences must be respected", said 22-year-old Monserrat Caballero, from Ecuador.

Other major cryptocoins including Ethereum , Ripple , Bitcoin Cash, Litecoin, and more are riding the same wave of uncertainty. Cryptocurrencies have been heavily sold off, amid fresh fears of a major regulatory crackdown in South Korea.

Podest said she and Ciuffardi had also explained to Francis that when they first started dating, she was his boss at LATAM.

They had hoped to have a church ceremony when they married in 2010 but their parish church in the capital, Santiago, was badly damaged by an natural disaster.

"At the same time I ask him to appeal to the armed forces and government of Chile to collaborate in this humanitarian crusade which will enable us to have the spiritual peace we need so much".

Pope Francis has flown over the massive Andes cordillera, visited the poor in several slums and rubbed shoulders with presidents in six visits to Latin America. An airline executive was the official witness and a document was signed by the Chilean bishop onboard.

After hearing their story, Pope Francis reportedly asked if they would like him to marry them. "Hopefully, this will motivate couples around the world to get married", Ciuffardi said.

"We hope you had a good flight", the bride said.
