How an immigrant to Canada helped Donald Trump prove his mental health

The results of President Donald Trump's first formal medical exam since taking office were announced Tuesday, and the big news was that the physician involved, Navy Rear Adm. Ronny L. Jackson, said the 71-year-old president received a ideal score on a cognitive test. He speculated that Trump requested the exam in an attempt to beat back the narrative of the past few weeks that he is mentally unfit for office.

Dr. Ronny Jackson, a Navy rear admiral who directs the White House medical unit, conducted Trump's annual physical last Friday.

Trump, 71, is known to enjoy high-fat foods like fried chicken, hamburgers and steak - and, while he plays golf, he does not have a daily exercise routine.

Even more freakish was Nielsen's logic-defying insistence that when Trump highlighted Norway as an ideal source of immigrants, the president was not making a racial comparison to Africa and Haiti.

"He said, 'I want you to get out there and I want you to talk to them and I want you to answer every single question they have, '" Jackson said of Trump.

"I have absolutely no concerns about his cognitive ability", Jackson said, noting that Trump scored at 30 out of 30 on the Montreal Cognitive Assessment test.

The test looks for signs of Alzheimer's or other forms of dementia.

Other tasks include drawing a clock face showing a specific time; repeating a sequence of numbers in reverse; and listing as many words as possible that begin with a certain letter. The test does not assess psychiatric fitness.

If someone scores 16 or less on the test, it is believed they're living with a cognitive health issue, while a score of 22 or less could indicate mild cognitive impairment.

Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., was candid and frank Tuesday when he tried to explain the uproar over what President Donald Trump may or may not have said during a bipartisan immigration meeting last week.

States want safe harbor for FIs serving legal cannabis industry
Where we differ is that we believe Oregon's legalized cannabis program is a success, even when it is not flawless . Recreational marijuana is now legal in 8 states and medical use is legal in 29.

Called the Montreal Cognitive Assessment, it is created to detect early signs of memory loss and other neurologic functions and Mr Trump had a ideal score, the doctor said.

Durbin said that while this week has been a odd one for his political career, he believes more Republicans will distance themselves from the president. His blood pressure was 122/74, within normal bounds, and his cholesterol was on the high side, Jackson said.

He said: "I will give 100 thousand dollars to Trump's favourite charity if he will step on an accurate scale with an impartial medical professional, okayed by both of us".

Jackson credited the results to genetics.

Trump has not clarified to aides what he said, but told reporters Sunday night in Florida that comments attributed to him "weren't made".

"There's no indication whatsoever that he has any cognitive issues", Jackson told reporters at a White House press briefing. He also takes a low-dose aspirin for heart health.

The White House has said it supports a short-term spending measure to prevent a shut down. A score below 26 would be a red flag.

Nevertheless, some took issue not just with the president's listed weight, but his height, as well.

Graham has not confirmed that the president said the term, but said he addressed with him his feelings about what was said.

Presidents don't typically sit for cognitive assessments during their periodic physical exams.
