Jets WR Threatened to Sexually Assault Cop's Wife

Jets wide receiver Robby Anderson on Friday was arrested in South Florida for the second time in less than a year.

Like his previous arrest in May of 2017, a Jets spokesperson said: 'We are aware of the situation'.

He was arrested at a music festival in Miami past year. According to the radio station, Anderson was going 105 miles per hour in a 45 miles per hour zone. Anderson is reportedly facing several charges, including harm to a public servant/family, reckless driving, eluding police, and resisting arrest.

According to the Sunrise Police Department in Florida, Anderson was swerving in his Jaguar "all over the roadway and failed to maintain a single lane".

"He continued to make other verbal threats towards my family", the officer, Jonathan Hennessy, wrote in the report. "Based on his statements, it was clear that he meant to sexually assault my wife".

He played 101 times for Brazil, scoring 35 goals including a 40-yard free kick which knocked England out the 2002 World Cup. He later moved to the Gremio senior team in 1998 and then went to Europe to play for French club Paris St-Germain in 2001.

Hennessy also said Anderson "began to brag about how much money he has and how all I was doing was trying.to 'ruin his fun'".

Coming off a 5-11 season, the New York Jets were looking to hit the reset button on the franchise and fix a bunch of things that needed to be fixed.

He was previously arrested in May while attending a music festival in Miami and faces a felony charge of resisting arrest.

Anderson, who played his collegiate football at Temple, went undrafted in 2016 but signed with NY as a free agent. The case is still ongoing and will require Anderson to be in court on March 19. He led the team with 63 catches for 941 receiving yards and seven touchdowns.
