Rivals250 WR Jacob Copeland picks Florida to dismay of mother

Jacob Copeland, a four-star wide receiver from Pensacola, Florida, announced his commitment to the University of Florida on Wednesday afternoon. So that's what made it a bit surprising when Copeland reached forward and grabbed the Florida hat to confirm he'd be a Gator.

She donned an Alabama hoodie and a Tennessee hat to the ceremony because she so strongly wanted her son to pick the Tide or Tennessee.

She later came back to the table to hug and congratulate her son.

National Signing Day is supposed to be an overwhelmingly joyous occasion for the parents of recruits.

Copeland had been paining over his decision, tweeting just before midnight Tuesday that he cried all night thinking about it. You may not like it, but you stick with them and show them your support.

Dorian Gerald, the nation's No. 1-ranked JUCO defensive end, could be a late addition to the class.
