Sony To Blame For Blocking Fortnite PS4, Xbox One Cross-Play

We're not so sure what Sony knows that we don't that would make Minecraft gamers on the PS4 so different from those on Xbox One or with Fortnite on the respective platforms.

Fortnite allows PS4 players to play with folks on PC, Mac, and the upcoming mobile version of the game.

Could it be that because the PS4 has massively outsold the Xbox One, that Sony doesn't want to aid Microsoft game player counts? In fact, Epic Studios accidentally enabled Xbox One vs. PS4 cross-play last September.

"Microsoft has always been a leading voice in encouraging the adoption of cross-platform play and the potential of connecting players across PC, mobile and all consoles", a Microsoft representative said in an email to The Jolt Journal today.

"Epic Games and Microsoft, developer and manufacturer of Fortnite and the Xbox video-games console respectively, have both shown a willingness to allow Xbox and Playstation owners to play Fortnite against each other online". And since the PS4 is now outselling Xbox One, disabling the function will only help sustain the present sales figures.

In the past decade, the UAE has intensified its efforts towards deploying solar energy solutions. Macron's 4-day India visit concludes on Monday.

Epic Games seem to be pushing Fortnite into the stratosphere, putting it out on all formats, pushing for cross-play, hell, it's even featured on UK TV in an abominable "This game is ruining my child's life" segment. Spencer said at the time that he "would have liked to see them leave it on". But Epic Games also revealed over the weekend that Xbox One players will not be able to play against PS4 players and vice versa.

Bluetooth controllers will also be made compatible with Fortnite on Mobile, although there's no current release date for this feature.

For the Fortnite, Microsoft requires a paid subscription to Xbox Live Gold in order to play.

If you are a mobile gamer eager to get Fortnite installed you can participate in the Invite Event on iOS now (iOS 11 on iPhone 6S/SE, iPad Mini 4, iPad Air 2, iPad 2017, iPad Pro devices or later). "Same gameplay, same map, same content, same weekly updates", screams the YouTube video description copy.
