Goa BJP celebrates party's 38th foundation day

Two days ago, at a function in Delhi, Modi had said that his government had done more than any other dispensation to work for the betterment of the Dalit community and to honour its icon Dr BR Ambedkar. "BJP workers should spread the word about the Modi government's works, and set the stage for the 2019 Lok Sabha elections", Mr. Shah said.

Recalling former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee's lines that "the cloud will go away, the sun will come up, and lotus will bloom", he said that the BJP at present rules the country with a clear majority and with its allies, it is ruling in 21 of the 29 states.

The Sikkim Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) today celebrated its 38th Foundation Day in a grand manner at Singtam Bazaar.

The BJP president constantly targeted Congress chief Rahul Gandhi, dismissing the BJP's recent loss in the Uttar Pradesh bypolls and highlighting the Congress's debilitation, and how the BJP has snatched power from the latter in 11 states. "It is the public perception of BJP being an anti-Dalit party which the cadres are anxious about and Amitji may try to dispel that perception and give something to the cadres that they can carry with them when they go back to their areas", the BJP leader said.

Amit Shah, the party President, launched party's election campaign for the 2019 elections in Mumbai, while union ministers Nirmala Sitharaman, Smriti Irani and Ravi Shankar Prasad exhorted party workers in Lucknow, Kolkata and New Delhi, respectively.

"Nowadays Rahul Baba (Gandhi) has been spending time with (NCP chief Sharad) Pawar".

Trump threatens to send military forces to guard US-Mexico border
Trump also asked Congress to provide funding for a wall along large portions of the southern U.S. -Mexico border. Trump ended the program a year ago , but gave Congress six months to pass legislation enshrining it.

Sources said he also told the MPs that opposition members nearly surrounded him during his reply to the Motion of Thanks on the President's Address to Parliament, and such a disruption during a prime minister's speech was unprecedented. We have failed to live up to the expectations of the people because of a handful of people, " he said while blaming the Congress for the wasted session of Parliament. They are the heart and soul of the party, whose sweat has taken the party to new heights.

"It is truly democratic and an only democratic political party can effectively serve a democratic nation", said the Prime Minister.

Queried as to why he was saying the NDA would capture power in the 2019 polls - unlike during the 2014 polls when the BJP had spoken about its ambition of winning 272 on its own, Shah said, "Even the 272-member Government is also that of the NDA". Asking the opposition not to feel bad about the remark, Shah said he made the remark as the opposition is not usually united.

He claimed that witnessing the response of the BJP activists at the 38th Foundation Day rally on Friday, it is clear even the party workers are resigned to the BJP's ouster in 2019.

People can now see where those are who practised this untouchability and those who were its victims, he said in a reference to the party's rise and the fall of socialist parties and the Congress.
