Republican Missouri Governor Eric Greitens Accused of Sexual Abuse in Graphic Report

Greitens eventually undid his trousers and moved his crotch near her face, after which she gave him oral sex, she said, feeling that it was the only way she'd be able to leave.

Greitens has maintained the affair was consensual and the claim of violence or sexual assault was false. "I think what we have seen so far is grounds for impeachment".

Sen. Maria Chappelle-Nadal, D-University City, said the details in the report were hard to read as a person who has experienced sexual harassment. He told her she needed to be hydrated and tried to spit water in her mouth multiple times though she spit it out, she said, "because I didn't even want to kiss him".

"I felt as though that would allow me to leave", she said. "And then to have to put his family through this". "So I just spit it out".

The governor of Missouri has been accused of aggressively coercing a woman into sexual encounters and threatening to release a nude picture of her if she spoke out.

The woman said she wanted to talk to him but he asked to "take her through an exercise", for which he had her change into a white T-shirt with a cut at the top and men's pajama trousers. "I'm overwhelmed with sadness for the state".

"In 33 days this will all come to a close, because in the United States of America, you get your day in court", he said. "I have no confidence in our governor's ability to lead our state right now and the information that has come to light is beyond distracting, it's completely disgusting".

The bipartisan committee was formed in February after Greitens was indicted by a St. Louis City jury on felony invasion of privacy charges: blackmailing a former mistress by tying her to exercise equipment and taking photos of her naked. "I wanted to think that he actually really liked me and wanted to have a relationship with me of sorts". Also, the St. Louis Circuit Attorney's Office files a motion in Greitens' case to disqualify one of his attorneys due to his involvement defending the governor in the state's secretive app investigation. But the committee said it found the woman "to be an overall credible witness".

The woman's name never has been officially released; it is redacted from the legislative documents and she is identified only by her initials in court filings. "So this affects a lot of people". He said it's up to the House to decide whether to attempt to impeach the governor. On Wednesday, he called the investigation "a political witch hunt". Claire McCaskill Sen., a Republican congresswoman and a Kansas City-area Republican state representative.

16 - A handful of Republicans call on the governor to resign, including Sen. She said she arrived around 7 a.m. and told him she had to be at work in 45 minutes. They said that occurred only after a House investigatory committee had released separate testimony from the woman saying that Greitens had initiated an aggressive, unwanted sexual encounter in 2015. The House had adjourned early for the weekend. Kehoe and Greitens are both Republicans.

Other Republicans to whom KCUR reached out to did not immediately respond to request for comment. Democrats gathered in the basement of the capitol building.

The committee's report does not recommend legislators take actions against Greitens, though the committee will continue its work through the end of the session. He began kissing her again, at which she started "freaking out", and trying to rip down her hands, she said.

Richard on Thursday stopped short of calling on Greitens to resign.

Nasheed said with the affair dominating conversations in Jefferson City, there's little focus on policy.

"Should the governor choose not to resign, I am persuaded that he has not only burned bridges, he has blown them up to where it will be impossible for him to effectively lead the state going forward", Kehoe said. "Read it thoroughly and determine at that point how we should proceed, but he definitely needs to resign from office immediately".

Greitens has refused to directly answer media questions about whether he took the photo, but he has steadfastly denied any criminal wrongdoing.

Rep. Gina Mitten, D-St.

"The House Investigative Committee's Report contains shocking, substantial, and corroborated evidence of wrongdoing by Governor Greitens", Hawley said in a statement. In a statement with Rep. Tommie Pierson Jr., D-St.

The woman said she stayed silent, thinking that this was the "most embarrassing thing" that had ever happened to her, before finally saying she wouldn't tell anyone.
