Apple is Launching a News Subscription Service Powered by Texture Acquisition

The tech giant is planning to launch a monthly subscription service that would give users access to magazine content, Bloomberg is reporting, citing people who claim to have knowledge of the plans. The new service will be related to news and following Apple's acquisition of the Texture app, the news subscription service seems like a good move.

Apple News is now a free app that delivers a personalized selection of content from a choice of publishers, with the ability to follow certain topics as well as subscribe to magazines and newspapers directly through news. More details in the full report linked below. The new subscription offering would shift the revenue model from selling advertisements to participating publishers, to sharing subscription revenue with the those publishers, the report added.

"We're excited Texture will join Apple, along with an impressive catalog of magazines from numerous world's leading publishers", he said. This new app lets users subscribe to the Texture's catalogue which offers upto 200 different types of magazines. After the acquisition, 20 people were made redundant while the rest of the team was part of Apple News. It has become a great source of information for iPhone and iPad users over the years. The Post, Journal, and New York Times all charge more than Texture's current total price for most of its individual digital subscriptions.

History made as VAR penalty awarded during half-time in bizarre Bundesliga clash
One goal defined this relegation six-pointer between Mainz and Freiburg on Monday night, and it was an odd one to say the least. This is the latest VAR-related controversy in a long line of decisions involving the technology.

Apple previously had a dedicated news app called Newsstand, which allowed users to subscribe to magazines and newspapers individually. These plans are created to help Apple boost its services business to meet revenue goals the company has set for itself over the next few years. We already know it has grand plans to offer streaming video content, so news and magazines are the next logical step. It's clear the company is looking for the same success story with its upcoming news subscription.

This is all for now, folks. To explore all the magazines, you have to subscribe for the app by paying $9.99 per month. Share your views with us in the comments.
