A War of Words Between Trump and Comey

During an ABC interview published today, former FBI director James Comey staunchly defended his decision to announce, just 11 days before the 2016 USA presidential election, that the FBI was reopening its investigation of Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton's use of a private email account while she was U.S. secretary of state. Comey says that Trump asked for his loyalty, and that he wanted him to go easy on Michael Flynn, at a moment when Trump may have known that Flynn had committed a crime by lying to the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

Comey faced criticism for his handling of the investigation into Clinton's email practices while she served as secretary of state under former President Barack Obama, including announcing just before the election that the probe had been reopened.Clinton said that decision helped cost her the election.

Comey's comments came in an interview with ABC News Sunday before the publication this week his book, "A Higher Loyalty".

He is publicly talking ahead of the release of his new book, "A Higher Loyalty: Truth, Lies, and Leadership".

The president initially retaliated by lashing out at Comey on Twitter, calling him "a proven leaker and liar" and an "untruthful slimeball".

"That is not normal, " Comey responded Tuesday during a live interview on ABC's "Good Morning America". They came out big for Donald Trump in 2016, but may not be there for the Republicans in 2020 - precisely because of questions about the president's character - questions that were reinforced in tonight's interview with James Comey.

Mr Trump told him that he had not stayed overnight in the Moscow hotel and that the claims related to the prostitutes were not true, Mr Comey said.

Allegiant Air responds to critical "60 Minutes" report
According to its website, Allegiant Air has nearly 130 flights to and from destinations in the United States and Puerto Rico. The five, who were interviewed on camera, detailed experiences ranging from disappointment to anger to trauma.

Comey's book tells about the FBI investigation of Russian interference in the 2016 elections. But if you believe Comey, as I think most reasonable people would, then he has provided an important set of facts that have to be dealt with - by prosecutors, by Congress, and by the voters.

The U.S. attorney's office for the Southern District of NY, which is not connected to the special counsel's ongoing Russian Federation probe, says that any material taken from Cohen will be inspected by a separate filter team to protect privileged information. The book also offers Comey's version of a private discussion with Trump about former White House national security adviser Michael Flynn. I am fairly certain that he was very careful in both the book and the interview about what he said. Cohen represented Trump in offering hush money to porn star Stormy Daniels, and Hannity has called CNN's president a "porn king" for the network's coverage of the Stormy Daniels scandal.

Even liberals who will never forgive Comey for his actions during the election don't think he's dishonest.

In his book, Comey repeatedly compares Trump's behavior to a NY mafia don. "But the reason I say "possible" is that there's a non-zero possibility that the Russians have some sway over him that is rooted in his personal experience".

"I told them it was a reservoir of trust and credibility built for you and filled for you by people you never knew, by those who are long gone".

While I think that's an interesting sentiment, I'd much prefer if this "President"-described as a constantly lying, morally unfit crime boss who is openly disdainful of women and speaks of them like they're mere objects-were removed from power sooner rather than later".
