Few people will be surprised to see Manchester City dominate the PFA Premier League Team of the Year by having five players named.

City have five players in the side, Tottenham Hotspur have three players included and there is one player each from Liverpool, Manchester United and Chelsea. Everyone at City would like to congratulate Kyle, Nico, Kevin, David and Sergio on their well-deserved inclusions. Burnley's James Tarkowski or Ben Mee arguably warranted an inclusion, but the votes went to Jan Vertonghen and Nicolas Otamendi.

The last African player to win it was Algeria's Riyad Mahrez whose exploits led Leicester City to win the Premier League title under Claudio Ranieri in 2015/2016. De Gea, Silva, Kane, De Bruyne, Salah are also shortlisted for the PFA player of the year award.
