Saudi airstrikes 'kill scores' at Yemeni wedding

Yemen has been embroiled in a conflict between the Saudi-backed government and the Iran-backed Houthis since late 2014.

"Following a series of nighttime air strikes on 22 April in Bani Qays, in Yemen, a hospital supported by Médecins Sans Frontières/Doctors Without Borders (MSF) in Hajjah, has received 45 wounded individuals".

A local official told AFP that at least 23 civilians, including women and children, were killed and 36 others wounded in the attack.

Al-Masirah, the Houthi-controlled TV station, said on its Twitter account that 33 people had been killed and 55 wounded. At least 17 women and children were killed in the strikes, according to official sources.

"We take this report very seriously and it will be fully investigated as all reports of this nature are".

The coalition has carried out 1000's of air strikes in Yemen which have hit faculties, markets and hospitals, killing tons of of individuals - although it says it doesn't goal civilians.

Fighting intensified in March 2015, when the Houthis advanced on the government's temporary capital of Aden, prompting Saudi Arabia and its Sunni allies to start an air campaign against the Shiite group. In October 2016, 140 mourners were killed during an air strike on a house in Sanaa.
