"Very cool!" President Donald Trump responds to Kanye's Twitter love

Kanye West received some backlash Wednesday (April 25) after showing support for President Donald Trump and posting a photo in a "Make America Great Again" hat, with the caption "we got love".

On Wednesday, West spoke out on the subject, writing on Twitter that "you don't have to agree with trump but the mob can't make me not love him".

The 808's and Heartbreak artist's latest messages shouldn't come as a surprise to his fans as West did meet with Trump when he first became president. "He is my brother".

In November 2016, the rap star opened a concert with a rant in support of the USA president, telling the crowd, "If I were to vote, I would have voted on Trump", and he shared a similar sentiment on Twitter on Wednesday.

And Kanye's wife Kim Kardashian-West doesn't appreciate that the tweetstorm has caused people to question her hubby's mental health.

While she distanced herself from his Trump comments, Kardashian celebrated his decision to speak freely about these topics. I believe in people being able to have their own opinions....

In a subsequent tweet, West said that he was "not political" and did not identify with either the Republican or Democratic party.

Facebook stock gained more than 4 per cent in after-hours trading and was up 7 per cent following its conference call . Many users said they would delete their accounts , raising fears that the service was facing a major crisis.

"Before I was aware you were a Trump lover I thought you were nuts".

"Thank you Kanye, very cool!" replied the president when West made the declaration, pointing out he does not support the leader's every action.

He cut short his tour, with his representatives saying he needed therapy for a breakdown - but re-emerged briefly to meet the then president-elect at his Trump Tower residence.

West, in a series of tweets, offered his support for Trump despite noting he doesn't agree with the president on all things. Because some of his ideas differ from yours you have to throw in the mental health card?' she said. West also tweeted admiration for Candace Owens, a conservative pundit who has criticized the Black Lives Matter movement.

Still, West continued to tweet about Trump, including sharing a picture of his signed "Make America Great Again" hat and a selfie wearing it. "That's just not fair", she added.

The 39-year-old star took to Twitter in the midst of Kanye West's social media tirade to poke fun at the 40-year-old rapper.
