Protesters target Starbucks where two black men were arrested

He said he hoped to meet with the two men in person to make a face-to-face apology.

Johnson, in an interview with The Associated Press on Monday morning, said the arrests last week were "reprehensible" and should not have happened.

Johnson added that the incident called for "more training that we're going to do with our store managers, not only around the guidelines but training around unconscious bias". "Because there are two black guys sitting here meeting me?"

Summary: Trouble is brewing at Starbucks, but can the brand save its image? Video footage of their arrest has since gone viral.

Just before 7.30am, the protesters moved inside and stood in front of the counter, some holding banners reading "End Stop and Frisk", chanting slogans such as: "A whole lot of racism, a whole lot of crap, Starbucks coffee is anti-black".

I want to apologize to the community in Philadelphia and to all my Starbucks partners. The men were asked to leave before the manager called the police.

According to witnesses, police were called by an employee because the men didn't order a drink and asked to use the store's bathroom.

Police released the men, who were not charged. The coffee chain is facing protests and boycott threats after two black men were arrested for not making a purchase and refusing to leave the store. "If a business calls and they say 'Someone is here that I no longer wish to be in my business, ' they (officers) now have a legal obligation to carry out their duties", he said.

Only one game was decided by more than one goal, though that Golden Knights two-goal victory came by way of an empty net marker. Eakin started the scoring barrage when he deflected Brayden McNabb's wrist shot from the point past Jones 4:31 into the game.

Hart also questioned why the men were arrested. The man, Andrew Yaffe, said he was and called the incident "ridiculous".

A woman can be heard in the video saying "they didn't do anything, I saw the entire thing".

Amid cries of police brutality and gentrification, Starbucks regional vice president Camille Hymes tried to talk to the protestors but they weren't having it. "It's absolute discrimination." The men were released eight hours afterward, when the district attorney found no evidence of a crime.

"Starbucks was built as a company that creates a warm, welcoming environment for all customers".

"I want to know why these doors are locked", one protester reportedly shouted. "And that is what we're focused on".

MARTIN: So you think this is just a one-off, or there just isn't enough vetting in the hiring practices?

On Sunday he tweeted, "Our city is shining bright like a diamond right now". "And that's exactly what I intend to do".
