Taiwan happy with United States response to PRC

"We urge foreign companies to respect China's territorial integrity and sovereignty, respect Chinese laws and the feelings of the Chinese people".

China's initial request asked worldwide airlines to remove references on their websites, or in other material, that suggests Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau are in any way independent from China.

Chinese foreign ministry spokesman Geng Shuang said on Sunday: "No matter what the United States says, it can not change the objective fact that there is only one China in the world and that Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan regions are an integral part of the Chinese territory".

Meanwhile, Wang Yi-kai, a Taiwanese social activist, who launched the satirical "Apologise to China" contest on Facebook in 2016, said that amid rising nationalist sentiment, even those foreign companies that abided with Beijing's one-China policy would find themselves being reprimanded for some other misdemeanour.

Taiwan has emerged as another potential flash point, with US President Donald Trump signing a law allowing high-level diplomatic visits there and Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping launching military drills in the Taiwan Strait and warning that Beijing's authority over the island was non-negotiable.

"While we seek a mutually beneficial commercial aviation relationship with China, we will consider taking appropriate action if necessary in response to unfair Chinese actions".

The Trump administration made it clear Saturday that Beijing will not be allowed to export censorship and its own Communist Party brand of political correctness to the rest of the world.

Chelsea close on top four with win over Liverpool
The win moved Chelsea , with 69 points, to within three points of third-placed Liverpool and two behind Tottenham Hotspur. Addressing the press ahead of Salah's return to Stamford Bridge on Sunday, Conte claimed "no one asked me about him".

"This is Orwellian nonsense and part of a growing trend by the Chinese Communist Party to impose its political views on American citizens and private companies", Sanders said.

Reuters noted that the war of words between the White House and Beijing comes on the heels of "contentious trade talks between senior usa and Chinese officials last week". For example, America's Delta and Australia's Qantas have already changed their websites, according to CNN.

Labor's foreign affairs spokeswoman, Penny Wong, said it was "entirely a matter for Qantas, or any other company, how it chooses to best promote the destinations it flies to".

China's Civil Aviation Administration has demanded the change from 36 foreign airlines, including some American carriers, according to the White House.

Last year, pop singer Katie Perry was banned from entering China because she had worn a sunflower dress at a Taipei concert that was seen to have supported Taiwan's independence. Washington acknowledges Beijing's position that there is one China that includes Taiwan and the United States takes no stance on that question.
