Roseanne Barr: "I'm Not a Racist, Just an Idiot"

Roseanne Barr:

Barr took to Twitter overnight to apologize again and say that she sent out her racist tweet after taking a sedative.

Later that day, Barr issued an apology of sorts on her Twitter to the hundreds of people on the Roseanne crew who have now lost their jobs, saying she was "ambien tweeting" and "went 2 far".

Barr also blamed the prescription sedative Ambien, claiming, "It was 2 in the morning and I was Ambien tweeting". On Wednesday, Barr tweeted: "I just wish ABC had not thrown two of the greatest actors in the world out with me-Laurie and John". Trump has cited the revival's popularity as evidence that his supporters, who include Barr, want shows that speak to their concerns.

Meanwhile, Emma Kenney tweeted that she was "hurt, embarrassed and disappointed" and Michael Fishman said he condemned Barr's statement.

Barr later apologised for what she called a "joke".

She also retweeted several messages complaining that ABC's decision was political and wondering why they hadn't axed performers who had said bad things about Donald Trump.

Barr, who is white, tweeted Tuesday that Jarrett is a product of the Muslim Brotherhood and the "Planet of the Apes".

ABC made a decision to cancel "Rosanne" on Tuesday and then suspended its "For Your Consideration" Emmy campaign the following day.

President Donald Trump's first public reaction to the cancellation of "Roseanne" is a shot at Disney CEO Bob Iger. "I did something unforgiveable (sic) so do not defend me". Yes, I have had odd ambien experiences on tweeting late at night-like many other ppl do. "This monkey thing is something she's tweeted before about black people", Arnold said.

"I condemn these statements vehemently", he said, adding that "we must stand up against; bias, hatred, bigotry and ignorance to make society a better place for all". "And I am going to tell you the truth, she wanted it to happen".

Barr also has a history of controversial statements that have been roundly criticized as racist, bigoted, or pushing conspiracy theories. One executive producer on the show said they felt "gut-punched" when they learned the news. "As one source said to me, this was unsurvivable".
