Trump accuses Mueller team of 'meddling' in midterm elections

President Donald Trump alleged Tuesday -- without providing any evidence -- that special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation will meddle in the midterm elections to benefit Democrats. Democrats complained that Republicans were ignoring evidence in order to protect President Trump. The firing is now under investigation by Mueller for possible obstruction of justice.

The president has said at least twice that Comey's firing in May 2017 was related to the FBI's investigation into whether Trump's campaign associates coordinated with Russian Federation in an effort to sway the 2016 election. With the congressional campaigns now in their early stages in many US states five-plus months ahead of the voting, Pompeo said there is much work ahead to mitigate any Russian interference.

Last weekend he tweeted, "at what point does this soon to be $20,000,000 Witch Hunt, composed of 13 Angry and Heavily Conflicted Democrats and two people who have worked for Obama for 8 years, STOP!"

"It's a Rigged Witch Hunt", Trump declared, questioning why prosecutors were not investigating his 2016 challenger, "the totally Crooked Campaign of totally Crooked Hillary Clinton".

United States intelligence agencies have said they have high confidence that Russian Federation attempted to interfere in the 2016 election to hurt Mrs Clinton.

Warner said he is concerned about Trump's frequent attacks on the FBI, which go beyond his criticism of the Mueller investigation. Earlier this month, the Department of Justice watchdog, Michael Horowitz, submitted an "extremely long and thorough" draft report on the handling of the Clinton-email probe.

Trump said in another tweet Tuesday morning that the special counsel's team should instead be investigating the campaign of his Democratic opponent, Hillary Clinton.

Trump Announces Surprise Pardon for Dinesh D'Souza
It's no surprise that Trump would take a shine to D'Souza, a vitriolic Obama hater who has cozied up to 45's White House before. Before pleading guilty, D'Souza claimed he was targeted for federal prosecution because of his anti-Obama views.

President Trump has done a remarkable job so far trying to correct the mistakes made by the previous administration.

"I did when I came in", he said.

In his latest talk with reporters today, Bloomberg noted that Giuliani is now saying that the probe should be wrapped up by September 1 but it should be ended regardless of whether Mueller interviews Trump or not.

Giuliani also mentioned President Trump has a volatile relationship with Attorney General Jeff Sessions, but Sessions is unlikely to be fired either.

"What I think he does with at least some of his allies - they're starting to undermine the rule of law", Warner said.

"'Unrecuse" doesn't say, "Bury the investigation.' It says on the face of it: Take responsibility for it and handle it correctly", Giuliani said Tuesday evening.

Earlier this month, Giuliani told Fox News that Trump felt he was treated worse by the Federal Bureau of Investigation than Clinton, who was publicly cleared of criminal wrongdoing at an unusual Federal Bureau of Investigation headquarters news conference in July 2016.
