Oops! 'Fox and Friends' host calls Trump a 'dictator'

"This gaffe is probably the most honest thing ever said in the program's history", one person tweeted.

He said: "The past does not have to define the future".

"Today we had a historic meeting and made a decision to leave the past behind and we are about to sign a historic document", Kim said.

Light on specifics, the Singapore accord largely amounts to an agreement to continue discussions, echoing previous public statements and commitments. It did not include an agreement to take steps toward ending the technical state of warfare between the US and North Korea.

Asked whether he would invite Kim to the White House, Trump said: "Absolutely, I will".

Mr Kim added that the "world will see a major change" and he and Mr Trump had "decided to leave the past behind".

Trump, beaming over what seemed nearly a bromance with one of the world's most brutal dictators, said he would invite Kim to the White House.

As President Donald Trump touched down Singapore to attend the most anticipated summit with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, a host on the POTUS' favorite cable channel called him a "dictator".

The summit centred on nuclear disarmament and reducing tensions.

But they were soon smiling and holding each other by the arm, before Trump guided Kim to the library where they held a meeting with only their interpreters.

Soon, Kim was on a plane headed home, while a clearly ebullient Trump held forth for more than an hour before the press on what he styled as a historic achievement to avert the prospect of nuclear war.

Trump and Kim will meet on Tuesday at 9 a.m. local time for talks on denuclearization.

Giving voice to the anticipation felt around the world, South Korean President Moon Jae-in said he "hardly slept" before the summit.

In the hours before the summit began, Trump expressed optimism about prospects for the first-ever meeting of sitting U.S. and North Korean leaders, while Pompeo injected a note of caution whether Kim would prove to be honest about his willingness to denuclearise.

After meeting privately and with aides, they moved into lunch at a long flower-bedecked table.

"Getting a good picture everybody?" "This is a very, look this is 72 years we're talking about, and we put it into one very intensive day and some meetings beforehand".

Then they dined on beef short rib confit along with sweet and sour crispy pork.

"Yeah", Scaramucci said. "[Trump] is a disruptive risk-taker, he's willing to break the usual bonds. because he knows that if he goes to a meeting like this, he increases the chance of peace and prosperity".

While advisers say Trump has been reviewing briefing materials, the president insists his gut instincts will matter most when he gets in the room with Kim. But he added "our hostages" are back home and testing, research and launches have stopped.

Staff-level meetings between the United States and North Korea were going "well and quickly", Trump said in a message on Twitter on Tuesday. The president said that his newly formed relationship with the dictator is markedly different from the lesser relationships his predecessors had with Kim's relatives, saying "they've never gone this far, you know, they've never been at a level like this, and his father never dealt with a president". During an impromptu conference about the G7 summit, Trump shared his optimism about the upcoming meeting with Kim.
