"This horse ran a tremendous race", jockey Mike Smith told The New York Times after the race.

Guests at Churchill Downs will be able to get a glimpse of horse racing's brightest star Saturday night when undefeated Triple Crown victor Justify is celebrated and paraded between races during an action-packed "Downs After Dark Presented by Budweiser" nighttime racing program. On Saturday, he joined Seattle Slew (1977) as the only other Triple Crown victor with an undefeated record.

The victory over Belmont Park's sweeping one-and-a-half-mile oval was the sixth straight for Justify, who joined Seattle Slew - also a wire-to-wire Belmont victor in 1977 - as the only undefeated winners of the Triple Crown.

Justify has won all six of his races.

The three-year-old chestnut colt became the 13th horse ever to win the Triple Crown of the Kentucky Derby, the Preakness Stakes and the Belmont Stakes after a dominant victory at Belmont Park in New York Saturday.

NBC Sports Digital's replay of the Belmont STAKES with Collmus' race call, plus additional Belmont video coverage (including "Collmus cam", and Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski cheering on his namesake horse) was viewed more than 7 million times across NBCSports.com, the NBC Sports App, YouTube, and Facebook.

"I think the race goes through Justify", said Arrigoni.

America only had to wait three years to see another thoroughbred accomplish the same feat. "He's so gifted", Smith said in a TV interview directly after the race. None of the other nine horses had a chance to catch him.

Skies are sunny and the temperature is forecast for 73 degrees when the Belmont Stakes is run early Saturday evening.

It will be the first time Justify runs on a dry track in the Triple Crown series.

After waiting almost four decades for a Triple Crown victor, lightning has apparently struck twice in a four-year span. He got a bruised knee at the Kentucky Derby and won on back-to-back on wet tracks in Kentucky and Maryland.

Gronkowski, named for and partly owned by New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski, returned $13.80 and $7 in his USA debut after arriving from England.

Next Saturday, Justify's owners along with trainer Bob Baffert and jockey Mike Smith will receive their engraved Kentucky Derby trophies at Churchill.

Justify won the 1.5-mile race by 1.75 lengths, with Gronkowski and Hofburg finishing in second and third. He did so in 2015 with American Pharoah, a colt that ended a 37-year drought.

With the win, Justify, who did not race as a two-year-old, improved to 6-0 in his young career, which started just 111 days ago. He didn't compete as a 2-year-old.

Baffert had fretted after Justify drew the No. 1 post, a spot he detests for his horses.

On a cloudy 80-degree day at Belmont Park, Justify proved a cool customer.

The precise timing of Saturday night's parade and schedule of events will be finalized June 13 for the 11-race card that begins at 6 p.m. EDT.
