Maurizio Sarri's agent 'in London to complete Chelsea move'

Raul Albiol, Elseid Hysaj, Jose Callejon and Dries Mertens are all wanted by Sarri but Napoli are keen to limit how many players their former manager signs.

Sarri has been holding talks with Chelsea over a deal to take over from Antonio Conte and he has already been replaced at Napoli by Carlo Ancelotti.

That's according to CalcioNapoli24, who have really cashed-in on the continuous speculation linking Maurizio Sarri, and a host of Napoli players, with a move to Chelsea this summer. The Belgian global was also a target for Antonio Conte, who failed to convince the West Londoners to sign him for last two summer transfer windows.

But at least he had some success during his time in west London, winning the Premier League in 2017 and the FA Cup a year later.

Chelsea and Villarreal are reportedly set to go head-to-head in the race to sign Napoli centre-back Raul Albiol.

The £24.5 million release clause in Mertens' Napoli contract expired last week, which will play into the Serie A club's hands.

"Conte put Mertens forward as a transfer target in each of the last two summers, only for Chelsea to deem the 31-year-old too old and too expensive", noted Law.

It will not come as a surprise to many with Sarri being strongly linked to the Chelsea role for many months. With Pedro's Chelsea future uncertain as well, the need to bolster attack is urgent, with Mertens a possible solution on the right side of attack, where he will be able to link up with global teammate Eden Hazard.

Chelsea have agreed compensation terms with manager Antonio Conte and his backroom staff.
