The Cavs drafted their point guard of the future on Thursday night, and they got a star in Collin Sexton.

Altman said the process is "nothing new for us".

"We continue to have good dialogue with his management team. He means the world to us and this franchise".

James was on family vacation during the draft, multiple league sources told ESPN, and the Cavs entered Thursday without being informed of James' intentions for next season. With two years remaining on his contract that's worth approximately $49.6 million, with the final year of his deal being a player option in 2019-20, Love seems to want to remain a Cav as much as the Cavaliers supposedly want him to remain in Cleveland.

Given that LeBron James is a pending free agent and could very well leave Cleveland, said interest was seemingly based more on the Cavaliers eyeing a future without The King.

If James leaves as a free agent, Young was the marquee player in college previous year.

The Cavs, who were swept in the Finals by Golden State, spent this season in a desperate search to replace Irving.

Johnson surged into the lead with his 63, thanks to eight birdies and six birdies in a row from the 11th hole to the 16th hole. Day knows he needs a red-hot score today, and the good news for him is that he could be shooting even lower.

The Cavs did not have any indication about James' decision heading into the draft. "But we're excited about what we have right now and moving forward and giving this coaching staff a chance to have some real continuity here at the start of training camp".

James is being linked to teams who might be better equipped to build a contender to challenge the Golden State Warriors, but has given no indication where he might be headed next.

Ken Berger of Bleacher Report reached out to several executives around the National Basketball Association following the draft to ask them if the Cavs drafting Colin Sexton matters to LeBron, and there was definitive consensus.

Sexton earned SEC Co-Freshman honors while leading Alabama with 19.2 points and 3.8 rebounds per game last season. However, he prefers to stay in OH with the Cavs, the insider claims. "And then Collin, we got to get there with experience as well". Just moments after he was selected, Sexton made an appeal for James to re-sign with Cleveland, saying "I see you need a few extra pieces this past season, and let's do it. Let's go back to the Finals". Considering where the Cavaliers franchise was before James arrived in 2003, and where it fell during his four years in Miami, that is not an unfair mindset.

Cleveland's player development staff has undergone significant change already this offseason.

That isn't to say that he isn't happy with the Sexton pick.
