Dillian Whyte beats Joseph Parker in bruising encounter

Dillian Whyte moved closer to a dream shot at the world heavyweight title after dramatically securing a career-best victory over Joseph Parker at The 02 Arena in London. There's always learning, improving and getting better. And in the seventh round I was thinking maybe they should pull him [Chisora] out, that he was taking too much punishment.

Whyte tried to dominate the inside but Parker would pick him off with jabs, though fail to follow up his infrequent good shots.

"You go in to a tough training camp and you miss your family all for a fight you know you're already going to win".

From there, Whyte was able to find his rhythm and range, pressing forward and imposing his physicality on the fight through the middle rounds.

"I could go to church, save a million puppies, 100,000 dolphins, seven blue whales and adopt 200 kids tomorrow and Joshua will still be the golden goose", Whyte told the BBC.

"I'm bad. There's no two ways about it but when I step in the arena I want to fight for the fans".

Both boxers ended up down on the canvas at different stages across the 12 rounds, but at the end, the judges agreed that Whyte had the upper hand on the Kiwi fighter.

"This man is 26, he's skilful and he's tough because I hit him with some punches and he got dropped and got up and he dropped me".

"Joseph is a softly spoken and likeable man - but make no mistake that in the ring, he's all business and has bad intentions for Dillian - this is a real 50-50 contest and I've no doubt that the victor will be in World title action very soon".

ESPN has more details on the school, which will begin with second and third grades with plans to expand in the coming years. Any efforts to humanize his experience go a long way because at times LeBron appears to us like a larger than life figure.

Parker nearly found it in the last minute of the round when he dropped a powerful right hand on the top of Whyte's head.

"I was supposed to be rougher, but when your head's pushed down, he's manoeuvring me and pushing me down and holding my neck, I couldn't do what I wanted to".

"I actually think the victor of this fight could potentially leapfrog Deontay Wilder".

"I say congratulations to Dillian".

"I bet you any money I win fight of the year with this fight".

"I need to prove that I'm a level above my opponent here".

"The guy deserves it, he's a warrior, he'll fight anybody, he's been on the road, he's fought the best in the world, he's still going - even when people write him off". I'm fighting an ambitious 8-0 prospect in Craig O'Brien who won't want to lose his unbeaten record. I put on a good show last time out at The O2 and I'll be looking to do the same tonight. This is the fight where everyone is going to see what I'm really about.

Hughie Fury Tyson's 23-year-old cousin was outpointed by Parker when they fought for the WBO title last year, but remains fresh and retains enough pedigree to eventually earn another world title shot.
