Mourinho hopeful Manchester United will sign one more player

Jose Mourinho is not expecting to get what he wants this summer, but the Manchester United manager insists only bringing in one more player is "not a drama".

Manchester United will have to pay an inflated transfer fee to sign Inter Milan winger Ivan Perisic this summer, according to a report in England.

Manchester United goalkeeper Lee Grant said Jose Mourinho has been supportive and upbeat while working with players during the International Champions Cup.

The former Chelsea boss had also predicted a tough start to the new season, even though the club will be favourites to beat Leicester and Brighton in their opening two fixtures.

Mourinho also had his say on Paul Pogba, and his influence on the France team that lifted the World Cup, the Portuguese coach insisted that the conditions were ideal for the midfielder to flourish and that he should take this form into the Premier League season.

The Manchester United manager has had a significant number of players unavailable due to post-World Cup breaks and injuries.

It is understood United are being paid around £30million for playing in the ICC, with Mourinho having effectively told fans to stay away from their final game against Real, a potential money-spinner for tour organisers.

And in the seventh round I was thinking maybe they should pull him [Chisora] out, that he was taking too much punishment. I'm fighting an ambitious 8-0 prospect in Craig O'Brien who won't want to lose his unbeaten record.

Mourinho continued to explain that the fans in the US which were around 101,000 in the stadium did not deserve to watch this performance but saw two great goals; "These people here show how much they love their club and came to enjoy the clubs they love in Europe". Alexis is the only attacking player that we have.

"His condition was not good when he was back", he said after the player returned to the squad from holiday. It's not going to be very different.

As it stands, Martial is likelier to be a United player at the end of the window.

"I agree totally with the window closing at the same time the Premier League starts".

But asked again in Miami ahead of the game against Real Madrid on Tuesday, Mourinho revealed he is feeling more positive about landing one new player before the start of the new season.

"I don't think he is a great leader", Mourinho said of Bailly while adding that newly-appointed captain Antonio Valencia's physical preparation was below expectations.

Mourinho - who having guided United to Europa League and League Cup success in his first season - delivered nothing last term.
