Cleveland Browns trade former Baylor WR Corey Coleman to Buffalo Bills

The Buffalo Bills acquired receiver Corey Coleman from the Cleveland Browns for an undisclosed draft pick on Sunday.

The Cleveland Browns traded Corey Coleman for a reported late-round pick to the Buffalo Bills. The first draft pick made by former GM Sashi Brown, who oversaw a team that won exactly one game over his brief tenure, Coleman broke his right hand in each of his first two seasons and had a total of 56 receptions for 718 yards and five touchdowns in 19 games, 18 of them as a starter. Giving up a seventh-round pick two years from now couldn't get much lower in terms of value, which speaks to how talent evaluators across the National Football League regarded Coleman after two seasons. The Browns originally had the No. 2 pick in the 2016 draft, but they traded it to Philadelphia, which took Carson Wentz and now is a Super Bowl champion. "He's just coming in here to compete and earn".

"He hasn't played a 16-game season yet in two years", Beane said.

The trade is a low-risk, high reward move for Buffalo.

"He's not going to automatically get anything, he's going to have to come in here and compete and that's what I told him". I'm sure he's not happy about [the drops]. Beane said, "Ideally guys in the first round don't take so long and there's various reasons whether it's injuries or whether it's the system, whether it's just not a good fit for where you're at, there's a lot reasons".
