007 producers hint at Idris Elba filling James Bond's shoes

Twitter user @wordtoJude felt this news was a long time coming - "IVE BEEN ASKING FOR THIS FOR YEARS".

Now he has shot back up to the top of every single United Kingdom bookies list. Why?

Elba is closely followed by odds of 7/2 for Tom Hardy, 5/1 for James Norton, 6/1 for Jack Huston, 8/1 for Tom Hiddleston, 10/1 for Aiden Turner, 12/1 for Travis Fimmel, 14/1 for Michael Fassbender, 16/1 for Ricky Whittle and 20/1 Henry Cavill.

In a recent interview, Fuqua said that Brocoli believes "it is time" for a non-white actor to take over the role and that he is personally certain that it "will happen eventually".

He remains the only high-profle black star to be linked to the role.

A United Nations panel of experts has expressed concern over military collaboration between Iran and North Korea in the past. President Trump pulled out of the nuclear deal in May, calling it "disaster".

"Idris could do it if he was in shape", Fuqua told the Daily Star. You need a guy with a physically strong presence.

Who will be the next James Bond? Will Elba want to play it as much as everyone else wants him to? Sure, he's a high-ranking fixture of Hollywood - he's the director behind Olympus Has Fallen, The Equalizer, The Equalizer 2, Southpaw, The Magnificent Seven, the Academy Award-winning Training Day, and many others - but he hasn't been involved with a Bond film in any capacity thus far.

Idris Elba was rumored to be the next James Bond, reports stated.

Elba also plays the title role in British crime drama Luther, voiced Chief Bogo in Zootopia, plays Heimdall in the Marvel movies, and famously cancelled the apocalypse in 2013's Pacific Rim. And after years of fan demand, it appears that Elba may finally have to start ordering his martini's shaken, not stirred. If that were the case, Elba would be considered a top candidate for the part. I think he is probably a bit too "street" for Bond.
