Apple shares drop on word tariffs could hit iPhone, Apple Watch & more

President Donald Trump has tweeted that Apple Inc should make products inside the United States if it wants to avoid tariffs on Chinese imports. It could also devalue its currency, to make exports cheaper in the United States.

"The US$200 billion we are talking about could take place very soon depending on what happens with them". The company is concerned, however, about the Trump administration's proposal to add 25 percent duties on another $200 billion in Chinese goods, including a wider assortment of consumer-related items.

The Mac mini desktop computer, Apple Pencil stylus accessory for iPads, various chargers and adaptors and tooling equipment used to manufacturer and design some products in the US will also be affected, the Cupertino, California-based company told the Office of US Trade Representative in a letter dated September 5.

The White House has accused China of stealing US intellectual property and forcing American companies to share their technology with Chinese companies.

China will closely monitor the impact caused by the tariffs and help domestic and foreign companies operating in China to overcome difficulties. That would mean penalties cover nearly all goods from China sold to the United States.

The tariffs are top of mind for Apple chief executive Tim Cook, who has personally lobbied Trump for months on issues of taxes and trade, even dining with the president and first lady Melania Trump at Trump National Golf Course in Bedminster, New Jersey, last month. "That changes the equation". And China has vowed to hit $60bn in USA products in retaliation.

Liverpool to battle European giants for Rabiot
Till date, Rabiot has amassed 212 senior appearances for PSG , becoming a full-fledged global for France in the process as well. Rabiot, meanwhile, has already admitted that he is a Liverpool supporter and would be interested in a move to England.

The U.S.'s ability to continue to dominate telecommunications technology, including the upcoming fifth-generation phone networks, will be hampered by the levy on imports from China.

While China's trade surplus with the United States grew again, it remained stable with the rest of the world at US$27.9 billion in August.

While Apple did not offer an estimate of how much Trump's China tariffs would increase costs of production, the company argued that the tariffs will only hurt American consumers and companies, without curbing China's technology policies.

In August 2018, the surplus was $31,05 billion, up from $28.09 billion in July.

Separately, White House economic adviser Larry Kudlow told CNBC on Friday that Washington wanted to build a "coalition of the willing" to take on China that would include Japan, the European Union and other allies. To a certain extent its going to be up to China, Trump said.
