Russian Federation says getting closer to deal on new gas route to China

Japan rejected a surprise offer by Russian President Vladimir Putin to Prime Minister Shinzo Abe to conclude a peace treaty between the two countries by the end of the year.

The Japanese prime minister, along with other participating leaders, is scheduled to deliver a speech in Wednesday's plenary session. We are accumulating experience, we are moving toward what we, with President Putin aspire-toward a peace treaty.

He added that Russian Federation and Japan will continue to address all controversial issues as friends based on the peace treaty.

"Let us walk together mindful of the questions 'If we don't do it now, then when?' And 'if we don't do it, then who will?'" Abe said, speaking before Putin.

Putin, sitting alongside Abe at an economic forum in Vladivostok, proposed Japan and Russian Federation conclude an unconditional peace treaty that would formally end World War Two hostilities between the two countries.

The Japanese side in particular needs to properly address sensitive issues such as issues relating to history and Taiwan, actively create a good atmosphere and continue to expand common interests, he added. For Russian companies, China offers investment with much less risk of being affected by USA and European Union sanctions, though Gabuev says it can be "painful and uncomfortable" for big Russian firms to negotiate with China as a junior partner, when they're used to dominating trade relationships with other neighbouring countries.

In a statement to CNN , Fager said his axing "had nothing to do with the false allegations printed in The New Yorker ". Moonves said he would only pay a tiny fraction of the penalties, my incredulous agent asked what he should tell me".

Putin implied that, after a peace agreement was reached, further talks could be held regarding the wider dispute.

Neither side has said what they'll discuss, but Trump's policies on trade and North Korea are topics of interest to both Russian Federation and China. Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshihide Suga called the move "extremely disappointing". Russian Federation has sovereignty over the islands. "Our sovereignty [over the Kuril Islands] is beyond any doubt", Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated in 2012.

After Abe pressed Putin on the subject of a treaty and a solution to the decades-long dispute over a group of islands claimed by both countries, Putin said: "An idea has just come into my head".

Abe has proposed making the islands a joint economic zone, which could lead to a settlement.

Experts have to "conduct a thorough study of the possible economic output" of the project, Abe said.
